“Made in China- Beijing 2008’ Olympic Games”

On the 13^th June 2008, TEU held a debate dedicated to the Olympic Games in Beijing.

The debate provided an opportunity for the TEU students to interact with the expert panel of guest speakers which included:

• Janusz Onyszkiewicz, vice-president of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee from January 2007 until mid-2009
• Adam Kozieł, Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights,
• Marek Kalmus, traveler, expert on Tibet
• Prof. Jarosław Górniak, sociologist

The round table of experts raised a number of issues, addressing the problem of human rights violation by the Chinese government and dilemma of sportsmen and politicians whether to boycott the Olympic Games.
