Lyon, 21-23 November 2008
83rd session of the Semaines Sociales de France
The session, held in Lyon with the topic "Religions, threat or hope for our societies?", brought more than 3500 participants, including 150 from Poland.
Each year the Semaines Sociales hold a three-day session on a topic of current interest in a different French city. In 2008 the seminar took place in Lyon with the number of 3500 participants. At these sessions, which are held in French, all those who feel interested in dialogue, in search for meaning, and in revival of social bonds in our country have an opportunity to meet there and share their knowledge.
As in previous years, the 2008 session organized by the Semaines Sociales de France hosted experts, politicians, philosophers, leaders from organizations, economists, sociologists and theologians.
The Semaines Sociales de France acts as an institute, with the mission to examine community life and to issue proposals regarding the social policy. It is one of the oldest organization in the country in this respect.
