Prowadzone zajęcia dydaktyczne:

Ethnic and National Minorities in Central and Eastern Europe

The objective of the course is to familiarize students with ethnic and national diversity of the societies of Central and Eastern Europe and issues of management of cultural diversity in the region. On successful completion of the course, students should acquire not only substantial knowledge of the major features of the ethnic and national diversity in Central and Eastern Europe, but also skills to analyze and understand complex relationships between different ethnic and national minorities.

Introduction to Peace Studies

The course aims to familiarize students with the major themes of the interdisciplinary field of Peace Studies. It introduces various perspectives on peace from above (international perspective) and from below (inter-state perspective). It gives students the possibility to study both theoretical and practical aspects of peace. The main emphasis is put on the understanding of the mechanisms of achieving, maintaining and enforcing peaceful relations in current world from philosophical, international and sociological perspectives.

Islam polityczny

Celem kursu jest zapoznanie studentów z podstawowymi informacjami na temat islamu i wybranych społeczeństw muzułmańskich oraz wielopoziomowa analiza zjawiska islamu politycznego i fundamentalizmów religijnych w ogóle. Pierwsza część zajęć jest poświęcona wyjaśnieniu religijnego uniwersalizmu i specyfiki islamu natomiast kolejne spotkania koncentrują się na rozmaitych aspektach polityzacji islamu i innych religii w erze nowożytnej.

Współczesne społeczeństwo polskie

Celem kursu jest refleksja nad wybranymi problemami społeczeństwa polskiego w oparciu o najnowsze badania socjologiczne. Zamierzeniem kursu jest zapoznanie studentów z opracowaniami socjologicznymi na temat współczesnego społeczeństwa polskiego i rozmaitymi interpretacjami zachodzących w nim zmian, a tym samym rozwijanie ich wyobraźni socjologicznej.

Globalizacja

Celem kursu jest omówienie procesów globalizacji zachodzących w rozmaitych wymiarach życia społecznego (ekonomicznym, politycznym, społecznym i kulturowym) oraz zapoznanie studentów z aparatem pojęciowo-teoretycznym pozwalającym na ich lepsze rozumienie. Największa uwaga poświęcona zostanie analizie globalizacji w dwu ostatnich wymiarach tj. społecznym i kulturowym.

Tutorial dla studentów polskich i zagranicznych

Celem zajęć tutorialowych jest doskonalenie warsztatu pisarskiego studentów (w szczególności poprawnego formułowania różnorodnych wypowiedzi pisemnych i ustnych) oraz trening samodzielnego krytycznego myślenia w oparciu o omawiane tek
